The Retreat is a thoughtfully converted barn that provides luxurious living accommodation in Hollington, near Ashbourne, a ten minute drive from the Peak District. This beautifully restored property is perfect for couples looking to explore the local countryside and for a relaxing or romantic break. With wood panelled flooring and open-plan ground floor living throughout, the cottage feels spacious, bright and airy. The living room and kitchen are very well equipped with top of the range furnishings. This character dwelling also has some great features including a romantic king sized bed and a delightful private garden with hot tub. With its partially transparent roof, it allows light to flood in during the day and then by night, you can relax whilst stargazing!

The space

The Retreat is a modern barn conversion with everything you need for your escape to the country. With modern styling and quality furnishings throughout and features a spacious king size bedroom with wet room, an open plan living area with flame effect fire, original truss fully fitted kitchen leading to the private pretty garden with hot tub.

Guest access

The property is accessed via a private driveway and parking is to the side of the property.. If you are arriving late keys can be left in the lock box for you to access the property.

Extras
The Retreat is located in a courtyard setting and can be booked together with The Mews and The Old Smithy, sleeping upto 15 guests.

Location

The Retreat is located in the pretty village Hollington not far from the market town of Ashbourne. Within a short walk is the Red Lion pub where you can get excellent pies and local ales. Further afield The Horseshoes, Long Lane comes highly recommended. Ashbourne itself has everything you would expect from a traditional market town including cobbled streets and numerous shops and restaurants.

Within a 10 minute drive you’re in the Peak District with plenty of fantastic walks and sights to explore including the picturesque valley at Dovedale as well as Thors Cave in the Manifold Valley. If you’re a water sports enthusiast, make a trip to nearby Carsington Water where you can go sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, cycling and fly fishing. For thrill-seekers Alton Towers is also within a short drive making this the perfect base for an adventure filled escape.

Getting around

We recommend travelling by car so that you can easily explore the local area. There is private off-street parking for one cars at the property. The property is readily accessible from the M6 and M1 and there are a number of routes in each direction to get you into the heart of the Peak District.
